But yeah, I have to say I agree. He's not a vampire, Mr. Atkin Downes, he doesn't need a Transylvanian accent >___<
But you know what? I REALLY, REALLY love how the resume on Robin Atkin-Downes' website credits him as GACKT in 'DIRGE of CERBERUS' xDDD
So, yeah, Genesis' 'DIRGE' voice was pretty ouch, but
Gackt's english is getting better though I believe, if you'll excuse the 'Nothing Truth' bit in REDEMPTION.
And Rick Gomez who shall be Zack apparently has a talent for voice mimicry... so maybe he can imitate Ken'ichi Suzumura's voice? His two seconds in ADVENT CHILDREN seemed promising.
Oh, and once ADVENT CHILDREN COMPLETE comes out (will they dub that?) it will have Zack's CRISIS CORE look instead of his softer grey-haired one <333
And I hope they do Angeal and Lazard justice, I love them too much. <333

If Kakashi's english voice had been closer to the Japanese (where Kazuhiko Inoue [Angeal] voiced) then I would've noted him for Angeal, but since dub Kakashi has a higher voice and happens to be the person who dubbed over for Yazoo [Dave Wittenberg]...

Right, now I'm off to show my parents the video of Gackt dressing up so I can show Mum why Gackt and my Dad seem to have a similar sense of humour. And Mum says that I have the same sense of humour as Dad... so does that mean I have a similar sense of humour to Gackt too?
I suppose that means that our "Is your refrigerator running" prank we plan to play on Gackt someday shall work properly then, Shadow, in more angles that just the language barrier :D

PearAPPLE MAKES YOU FULL OF WIN!And since I refuse to play dirge, I have no idea about Robin Atkin Downes and his work in it. But man, he's in 'Uncharted' (NDI game on the PS3 which is also love) and that alone makes me happy. His voice is nice so the idea of him doing some transilvanian accent makes me just...slap my head.
But don't forget that the VA director and such also choose the voices/give final approval - they are as much to blame (if not, more).
I was shocked when I heard it. @___@;: I cried a little inside, I think. Because Gackt has such a beautiful voice... <333
I haven't played it either, but I did download the cutscenes and so-on for it (because I am Miss. Cheap-o-gamer like that). It was very dark, and the new characters were pretty neat and Vincent and Cid and Yuffie were made of awesome, but to be honest, even though I love the Compilation like crazy, I have to say that it wasn't the best game ever ;/ Some of cutscenes were really nice though.
(One of the cutscenes I watched five times in a row because it had Cloud in it... it wasn't even him physically in it, it was just his voice over the phone. But Steve Burton has such a nice voice, and it's so nice and soft and... ^w^<33)
Yes, that's true. In an interview with Kari Walhgren (Ashe in FFXII and Shelke in DIRGE) she said that she wanted to put a bit of emotion into Shelke's lines, but the Directors told her to be really cold. Link to interview here -> http://www.finalfantasyfestival.com/200
